One of the better vegan butters. This tastes quite close to the Miyokos one but is cheaper. No margarine favor, which is really nice.

    Miyokos is better

  3. AngelaB

Very disappointed. Waxy, more like margarine than butter. Not even close to Miyokos in taste or quality of ingredients and it’s not organic, which Miyokos is. Contains canola oil which we avoid. Wish they hadn’t substituted this for carrying the best option out there.

This stuff is a disappointment after getting used to Miyoko’s. It tastes like industrial strength margarine from another era, with that cloying, plasticky, stick-to-the-roof-of-your mouth texture that you get from partially hydrogenated oil. It doesn’t seem to melt, which is worrying. I’m not buying or eating this.

Very disappointed in Trader Joes for replacing the fabulous Miyoko’s with this substandard spread. It isn’t organic, uses dangerous industrial seed oils and “natural flavors”. I would not use it based on these ingredients.

What little flavor it has is closer to old school margarine than, say, Miyoko’s — which I was told Trader Joe’s was not carrying any longer because they’d developed this vastly inferior in-house version. My cat agrees with me. When I spread Miyoko’s he yell’s and taps my plate until I let him have a little. With this product, though, he picked up a tiny piece in his mouth and then walked away. It’s not the end of the world but it’s just one more product that I used to be able to get at Trader Joe’s that I now have to walk to another market to obtain.

TJ’s Vegan Buttery Spread has missed the mark with this one…it is underwhelming in flavor and oily. I am very mindful about what I eat and will not waste my calories on this spread. Please bring back Miyoko’s Vegan butter (organic).

  8. Tracey Christianson

This product replaced Miyoko’s butter so I tried it thinking that it would be comparable. Not even close to Miyokos in taste or quality of ingredients and it’s not organic, which Miyokos is. I was so disappointed that I threw it away. Please bring back Miyoko so I don’t have to make an extra trip to Target (YUK)

Processed margarine, masquerading as butter. TJ’s used to sell Miyoko’s which I prefer to traditional butter. I will now shop at Costco, as they have Miyoko’s at a great price.

Awful! It’s a mystery while they would swap in this terrible knockoff for the wonderful Miyoko’s, unless all that matters is cost. The texture is very weird and gummy, so sticky that it’s hard to pry off the knife, and tastes like cheap margarine. Ingredients aren’t great either…canola oil? Yuck. I won’t buy this ever again. I can get the far superior Miyoko’s from Costco. Disappointed in you, TJ’s.

I was so sad to see Miyoko’s gone, but I thought I’d try it anyway. Nope! Fake-ey margarine smell and appearance. Earth Balance is way better than this. I will be buying my vegan butter wherever they sell Miyoko’s!

I absolutely love Trader Joe’s and I shop there all the time. But this is probably my least favorite vegan butter. It’s hard, doesn’t melt as fast as other butters, and is generally tasteless.

I am surprised by all of the reviews lauding Miyoko’s. I find their products to be less flavorful and overpriced. The butter is no exception.

My favorite vegan butters, in order of preference, are: Country Crock Plant Butter, Land O Lakes Plant Based, and Earth Balance. These have the most flavor (in my opinion( and also happen to have the most heart healthy ingredients–from what I can tell (more mono-unsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, etc.) The first two are usually among the cheapest as well.

I am always sorry when I buy this Trader Joe’s vegan butter. But it does ultimately get used….it’s not so bad that I toss it.

I love this vegan butter. It is much better tasting than Miyokos which has more of a cream cheese flavor to me than butter. This spreads like margarine, but tastes like butter. And, my family loves it which is a real plus!

I love this vegan butter! They make my vegan baking taste amazing! Not sure why the reviews are like this. People just like to complain! This butter is awesome!
