This was actually a lot better than I expected! My concerns going into it were that it would have way too much of a bitter garlic flavor, that the crust would be weird, and that the pesto globs would be too contained just in specific areas and not spread out enough. None of those ended up being issues.
The crust is a nice texture, and almost reminiscent (in texture not flavor) of like green onion/scallion pancakes from Chinese food restaurants. The cheese was good, and the pesto was good too!
I might not buy it again just because it was so heavy/greasy (I guess not surprising for being “deep fried” but even the cheese part felt way greasier). But it did taste good and it was fun to try!
Crusty –
The deep fried crust is the highlight of this pizza. The flavorful combination of pesto, cheeses, and garlic is lighter than expected and oily. Again, you’d mainly buy this for the crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside crust.

This is potentially their best frozen pizza. In fact, I wish they sold just the crust. Imagine the possibilities….

Every time this comes back we grab several boxes before it disappears again. Sell this forever and don’t change the recipe!
The pizza actually looks like the picture on the box once it’s baked and golden brown!

I love Trader Joe’s frozen foods and when I saw this I had to try it, when I did, it was smaller than I thought and the crust was so large some slices had little to no cheese on it. For the taste, I hated it and couldn’t even finish one slice. The crust was also horrible which I was surprised about, I won’t be buying it again.
