This is the only Magnesium that I recommend because it works so well for me. I do take a higher does than is recommended however it helps my fibromyalgia.

  2. P Heresy

I’m just trying this out, so have no basis to rate this except for list of ingredients. I have questions, but shouldn’t have, there should never be questions about the ingredients.
It shows 3 different forms of Mag; oxide, citrate and amino chelate (magnesium glycinate?).
This is unusually NOT precise at all. These forms of Mag, are different from each other, so what amount of each type is in this supplement?
The fact that oxide is dirt cheap, citrate a bit more expensive, and glycinate considerately more expensive than the other 2, it would seem that they are purposely obscuring for obvious reasons. Unbecoming of TJ’s/

It’s the only magnesium that doesn’t upset my stomach and works for my migraines. I hope it hasn’t been discontinued.

I asked if this was discontinued at my TJs, and they said Yes. I am really bummed out. I have been taking this one for over 10 years and I don’t have a backup plan. Has anyone found a comparable substitute?

  6. Meg

I too was VERY disappointed when this supplement was discontinued. I’ve been taking it for like 15 years and it’s the only one that doesn’t upset my system. If you’re looking for a substitute you can try Pure Magnesium, which was recommended by a functional medicine doctor in our area. It’s Magnesium Glycinate, which is supposed to be the most gentle on your system. Good luck!

I read this was discontinued! It looks like cove magnesium supplements for migraine is identical (for much more $) but it’s the only thing that works for me!

I always hate it when TJs discontinues an essential product like this and have to scramble to find a replacement. The original TJ’s magnesium comes with a mix of Magnesium Oxide, Magnesium Citrate and Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate. Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate is also also known as Magnesium Aspartate.

I have found the Swanson brand Triple Magnesium Complex formula to be a suitable replacement for the Trader Joes magnesium. No sweet outer coating though! I’m sure there are other “Triple Magnesium Complex” forumas sold by other brands that are also acceptable.

Why did Trader joes quit carrying the magnesium tablets?

  10. Victoria Olive

Why did TJ discontinue such a great product? Can’t they bring it back?

  11. Alfreda

I really need you all to bring back this magnesium. It was the best for me. The others I take does not help me, especially the ones prescribed.

  12. Carol

I have taken this Mg supplement for a number of years and still have a few bottles left. I purchased another brand and noticed leg pains I never had before. Most available brands contain Mg oxide which is insoluble. Wish TJ’s would give customers a follow up source if they choose to discontinue a product. This one is important since it provides health benefits which your previous reviewers have stated. Can someone explain why this was discontinued and where we can get an identical replacement?
