The flavor was good. but there was literally no spice, despite the fact that the package listed chilies so as a convince food it didn’t meet my needs as I didn’t have chilies on hand to add.

No idea if this is “authentic,” but I can say that this is unlike any other tikka masala sauce I’ve had (both before and after going vegan). Used this once while making chana masala. I was wary when I saw tamarind, because I’m not a fan of that flavor; unfortunately it’s pretty prominent here. I also found it lacking in spice/heat, and added some of my own (Peri-Peri sauce works well. Call it fusion), as well as tomato paste in a futile attempt at masking the tamarind.
No idea what the ground watermelon seeds do here, despite being the third ingredient. Nor do I understand why it is in a bag.

I am usually a huge fan of Trader Joe’s sauces and condiments but this tikka masala sauce (sold in a pouch) had no flavor whatsoever. I was expecting much more flavor because of all of the ingredients listed on the package. But it didn’t taste like anything. Very disappointing.

I sautéed chicken thighs with shallots in a little olive oil, adding salt pepper and turmeric and let it cook. 10 minutes before serving I added the Trader Joe’s Tikka Masala Curry and let it simmer. Served with saffron rice, cilantro, fresh cut green chili peppers and lime. It was absolutely delicious.
