“Trader Joe’s Mini Filet Mignon en Croute looks promising but delivers mostly mushrooms and very little beef. A skip for the holiday season.”
“The pastry on the outside is fine. Light, buttery, bakes up golden. But the filling? Pure mushroom with a suggestion of beef the way a candle suggests vanilla. If you were expecting a mini beef Wellington, this is nowhere close. What you get is a mushroom stuffed puff bite that might contain microscopic beef crumbs.
If you love mushrooms, this could work for you. But if you want a meaty holiday appetizer, this will break your heart. I left this review with one overwhelming thought. This is a skip. A total skip
