This was a little too “bready” and dense for me. Nice frosting, and nice flavor, but the texture of the cake was too “solid” for what I was hoping for – I like softer, more moist cakes.

I loved the frosting, and the lemon flavor — it’s the perfect type of lemon taste where it’s neither too bitter, nor too sweet. The cake could’ve been a little more moist and melt-in-your-mouth, but overall I enjoyed it.
I do think the “Lemon Bites” are a better choice overall, though, and I would buy those instead next time.

Why have you discontinued the lemon zinger cake?
This was an incredible product. It was one of the reasons I came in to shop at TJ’s.
I loved how it actually was a cake, not just some moist crap wrapped in cellophane, designed for long shelf life. That is what the lemon cake at Lucky’s supermarket is like, in case the reviewers above need to find their lemon fix.
But, if you want a real cake, designed to go with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, TJ’s Lemon Zinger was the one for me.
Too bad it’s gone. Who was the dumb ass that moved it to the bottom shelf last year where no one could see it ? No wonder it got canceled. I am pissed .

My family and I love this cake! I would bring it to all our gatherings. Please bring it back. It definitely sold well so why would it be discontinued. The icing is amazing. It is a thick cake but so moist. The flavor is the right combo of tart and sweet. Great cake!

Please bring back the Lemon Zinger Cake. It was a wonderful cake and it was the main reason why I always shopped at Trader Joe’s. I bought 2 of these cakes every single week throughout the seasonal product offering (I ate them all myself). I would never buy any of the other cakes/desserts that TJ’s has to offer as they cannot compare! Now I don’t really feel a need to shop at Trader Joe’s any longer. Every time I find a product I love to purchase they discontinue the product. Just like when they discontinued my favorite product of the fresh individual pizzas!

Lemon Zinger was awesome. I would even bake one myself if I had the recipe. It is a perfect treat that I bought each week. I miss it.
