Sooooo amazingly good! Is this seasonal? I’m sad I didn’t find it sooner!

This is excellent! TJ’s says it’s their take on eggplant parmigiana (ie: with butternut squash instead of eggplant), but I think it stands alone as it’s own dish. Really unique flavors with elements of both sweet and salty.

Sorry, I love TJ’a but just tried this and it smelled and tasted like chemical/bleach, I spit it out, either that’s how it tastes or something was wrong with it. Some of the squash was hard as a rock, others were soft. The topping was bubbling, over cooking and got extremely sticky. Not good, hopefully it wasn’t a bad batch because it was BAD. I love their chili Mac n Cheese so not sure what’s up with this.

I believe this years is a bad batch. I had not had it previously but the squash is barely cooked so when reheated in oven or even microwave it has a mildewy taste to it. the chemical reference about was probably the same taste i am getting….meaning the squash is undercooked and/or not properly harvested. I make squash myself and have encountered this before with a bad squash/undercooked squash. too much cheese, would have been wonderful with more squash/amaretto, less cheese and properly selected/prepared squash

I have to agree that this is really bad. Odd tasting with an overly sweet taste from the crumbs. Followed the instructions exactly and it cooked very unevenly – burnt at the edges with some almost raw squash as well as a few bits that were soft. I thought of trying to recook it somehow, but came to the conclusion that it was not salvageable. I had to throw it away.

This was inedible and smelled awful. I agree with the “chemical” assessment of the smell and taste. I have never had bad food from Trader Joe’s so this was a shock. Something was wrong with the squash and I couldn’t say what it was but this went straight into the trash.

Ew. This stuff is gross. I tried to like it. Took about 5 bites, but I can’t. Like the other reviewers said, it’s got a weird chemical taste and seriously lacking in the delicious butternut squash taste. The squash was cut to thick or something and is more crunchy than soft and buttery (as it should be). Now that I think about it, the butternut lasagna meal in the fridge section is no longer as good as it used to be. Where are you getting the squash from TJ???!

So, another disappointing frozen meal from TJs. The list of avoided ones seems to be growing for me which is sad. You’re better than this TJs!

WAY too strong on the amaretti. I was expecting a tiny bit of almond aftertaste, but in reality it’s a very strong chemical amaretto flavor. Swing and a miss on this one. Won’t buy again.

I am generally happy with almost everything I buy at T.J.’s, but this product was plain gross. I couldn’t decide it I was eating dinner or dessert, but I was ravenous so I tried to finish it. It wasn’t even the piece of blue plastic wrap I found in it that made me finally throw it out, it was the fact it tasted terrible. I’ve been known to eat questionable leftovers to avoid wasting food, but this ended up in the trash.

Absolutely disgusting. This is probably the worst frozen meal I’ve ever had of this sort. I am trying to find something to get the taste out of my mouth.

I give it a 4-1/2 star rating. The taste was great but appearance was lopsided and topping was at one side.

awful….the slices of squash were sloppy and the amaretto crunch with the gooey cheese was a real miss Right to the trash disposal!

I love this! We eat it with rice and white sauce. I have not found it yet this season but am hoping it is coming back in 2019!
