Great for baking! –

From Southern Living:
Vanilla extract is a solution that is made by putting vanilla pods in a mixture of water and alcohol, like you might steep tea leaves.
Vanilla bean paste, on the other hand, is made out of a combination of vanilla bean seeds, ground up pods, and sometimes thickeners. Vanilla extract will get the job done, of course, but if you’re looking to elevate the flavor of your baking, this paste might be the way to go.
Vanilla bean paste can be used in most recipes that call for extract. In most cases, it’s a simple one-to-one swap for extract. My favorite Trader Joe’s version says 1 teaspoon of it is equivalent to 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 Tablespoon to one whole vanilla bean.
So if your recipe uses extract, feel free to use paste instead! One consideration to keep in mind with paste, however, is that it can add a small amount of crunch from the tiny seeds; if this doesn’t work with your particular recipe, stick with the liquid stuff.
Whether you’re baking for the whole family, as gifts, or just for yourself, you won’t regret picking up a bottle of this pantry superstar. Elevate your baking without breaking the bank—what a way to start off the festive season!
