There’s nothing particularly bad about these, but there’s no heat to them at all. Trader Joe’s doesn’t offer many options for adding heat to a dish, just these, jalapeños, and shishitos, but the fresh jalapeños are far and away the hottest.

Absolutely love trader joes hatch green and red chile flakes. They are hot! I have to use it sparingly but love, love the flavor it adds to my recipes. I shake it directly on my food.
