What if you have some leftover rice, some leftover japchae but not enough for another meal?
On the TJ’s food team they looked at each other and said, “What if we combined them together?! Carbs on top of carbs! Brrrilllliant!” B^D
First thing upon opening the bag you smell the fresh smell of frozen bell peppers. Easy to cook in a pan, stir till defrosted, then turn down to low heat and let the bottom crisp up a little. In fact do that so you don’t get soggy rice. No one likes mushy rice.
The rice and glass noodles themselves weren’t that tasty despite the alarming amount of sodium this frozen dish has. All the flavor is in the shiitake mushrooms and sliced onions!
Like some other Trader Joe’s frozen fried rice you’re free to eat it plain but you’ll enjoy it more if you add your own foodie upgrades. A fried egg or two, kewpie mayo, furikake, hot sauce, melted cheese, sliced sausage, more veggies – whatever tickles your fancy.
