More like 3.75. Not too sweet. Pumpkin flavor not strong. Even though it tastes less sweet than the Apple sourdough, it has double the amount of added sugar. It has 4g of added sugar which is the same amount as 1 Lindt truffle ball, which is pretty sweet. So, sugar content can be deceiving. It is soft and moist, but a little drier than the Apple sourdough. I had a better reaction with the Apple sourdough than this one.

I can’t believe how good this is! In terms of regular everyday bagged sliced bread, this is some of the BEST bread I’ve ever bought from a grocery store. Even more surprising because I’m usually not impressed by Trader Joe’s regular sliced bread at all (their ciabatta etc is a different story, yum).
I love sourdough bread, but I didn’t go into this expecting much because:
1. As mentioned, TJ’s bread isn’t always the best.
2. I wasn’t sure how the pumpkin aspect would be. I thought if it wasn’t pumpkin-y enough then it wouldn’t be good as a desserty bread, and otherwise it wouldn’t be good for using with sandwiches.
But wow. This is absolutely perfect in every way to me! The texture is pillowy soft but with the right chewiness to it, and it can withstand a decent amount of time in the toaster without getting overly crispy.
It actually works so well for a sandwich. I’ve been making sandwiches with it with tofurky and red pepper hummus, and it’s amazing how delicious the combination is.
The pumpkin flavor isn’t too strong, but it adds something that takes the bread to another level. I really wish they would sell this year round! Might have to buy some extra and freeze it so I can get a couple months worth past the fall season.
