This is great for when you’re in the mood for a quick meal – you can just throw it in the microwave for a few minutes and boom, brown rice. It’s also nice to have a pre-set portion. Of course it’s not as good as fresh cooked brown rice, but it’s definitely good for what it is.

Its hard to believe this exists. I can’t cook brown rice to save my life, so the fact that this is portioned well, easy, and so affordable, these packets are perfect for throwing in the microwave.

Convenient if you’re in a rush but nothing beats freshly cooked rice in a rice cooker.

Internet peeps raved about this frozen brown rice as one of TJ’s best products. Healthier than white rice, a hefty helping packed in 3 bags for 3 meals, convenient to just throw in the microwave for a quick meal.
Quick, cheap, filling, healthy – a life saver in college!
Butttt the texture is off for me. It’s mushier than if you cooked it fresh but if you douse it in soy sauce and scarf it down with vegetables and chicken breast you might not notice.

Microwaveable convenience, yes.
3 bags for a decent price, yes.
Texture? Mushy. Not how brown rice should be. :/
There are better alternatives now people besides a rice cooker and setting it to cook ahead of time!
May I suggest precooked microwaveable brown rice by Nishiki? Or any of the Asian cooked rice brands.

I love it! I’ve been sauteing zucchini and Trader Joes 3 bell peppers frozen and already chopped up. along with onion and minced garlic and a tiny splash of sesame oil and splash of sweet soy sauce. Keep it forever! No sodium and no salt!

Just cook brown rice in a rice cooker, freeze into individual portions and meal prep with that 🙂

Great brown rice for being a convenient item. Like the nutty texture and taste. Looking forward to making many bowls with this.

Bland and mushy compared to cooking rice on the stovetop or better yet a rice cooker
